How do I cancel a patient’s appointment?
Cancellations happen - we get it! That’s why we’ve made it easy to cancel appointments in Opencare.
To cancel an appointment, please follow these steps:
- Select the appointment you’d like to cancel and click on their name.
- Click on ‘Cancel Appointment’ and select a reason for cancelling the appointment.
- If you’d like to give the patient the opportunity to re-open the appointment request, check off that box (before the ‘Cancel Appointment’ button).
- Click ‘Cancel Appointment’. The patient will receive a message that their appointment has been cancelled. If you gave them the option to re-open the appointment, you’ll be notified if they do and their appointment will go back in to the ‘Requested’ state.
Please note: You can only cancel an appointment if there will be at least 1 attempt to schedule the patient which will show in the conversation history of the appointment request.
